Underground ‘Shaligram’ museum in the making

An underground museum is being built at Kundulephedi in Baglung at an estimated cost of Rs 60 million.

The museum that is being constructed through crowd funding aims to preserve ‘Shaligram’ (Ammonite Stone), which carries religious significance in Hinduism and is symbolic of Lord Vishnu.

Sage Prapannacharya took the initiative to construct the museum by raising funds from local people.

Preparation is on to showcase the entire Kaligandaki civilisation in the 100-metre-long tunnel of the museum.
