Two Indian climbers died on Mount Kanchenjunga, the third highest peak in the world, on Wednesday night.
Pasang Sherpa, sales and marketing director of Peak Promotion Pvt Ltd, which organised the expedition, confirmed the death of two Indian mountaineers.
According to Mira Acharya, director at the Tourism Department, the deceased have been identified as Biplav Baidya, 48, and Kuntal Kakar, 46.
Peak Promotion officials informed that Karar died while scaling the mountain at an altitude of 8,000 metres while Baidya died while returning from the summit.
Another mountaineer Rodrigo Vivanco of Chile has gone missing while returning from the summit.
Search is underway for the missing mountaineer, informed Sherpa.
Meanwhile, efforts are underway to bring the bodies of the Indian climbers to Camp II by Friday from where they will be airlifted to Kathmandu, said the expedition organiser.
