Minister for Communication and Information Technology Gokul Prasad Baskota said on Thursday that Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli went to Singapore for his regular health check-up for the second time and for further medication.
According to minister Baskota“Prime Minister Oli has started taking new medicines after his return from first Singapore on August 12 as he was taking same medicines for 12 years since his kidney transplant in 2007”.
He made this remark while speaking at a weekly press meet organised to make the cabinet decisions public today. The cabinet meeting held on August 18, 19 and 21 took various 35 decisions. “Doctors in Singapore have given him new medicines for enhancing kidney function and now will study the possible side effects of the new medicines,” he said.
Medical sciences have developed very high quality medicines for kidney patients in the past 12 years, and thus the PM has also used new medicines as per the suggestion of the doctors attending him and health check-up will be done at the National University Hospital ,Baskota said.
“Prime Minister Oli is not that level of sick as reported by the media. He attended three cabinet meetings that lasted till 11:00 pm on Sunday, Monday, and Wednesday,” Minister Baskota said.
further, Minister Baskota added that some media outlets have presented some fabricated and half-baked information regarding the health of the Prime Minister. “The Prime Minister himself waved his hand to all, who came to see him off at the airport today”. Meanwhile, the government has introduced a provision of calling Cabinet meeting by the Prime Minister through video conferencing when he is out of the country or outside the Capital.
The provision was added by amending the Nepal Government (Work Performance) Regulation-2007.
The cabinet meeting also decided to appoint joint secretary Hari Sharan Pudasaini as consulate general of Guangzhou, China. Pudasaini has been appointed for a term of four years. The government has also endorsed seventh amendment to Nepal Police Regulation-2019 and National Climate Change Policy-2019.
The government has decided to table a bill relating to amendment and integration of the Prison Act in the Federal Parliament.
The Cabinet meeting also endorsed Nepal Urban Road Criteria-2019 and Work Procedure Criteria-2019 related to the use of national forest area for taking national pride project, and establishment of Dhaubadi Iron Mine Limited in Nawalparasi district.
The government has decided to create 276 temporary vacancies of gazetted level for the fiscal year 2019/20 for running 54 development projects programmes to be run under the Ministry of Urban Development.
Similarly, the government decided to create 392 temporary vacancies of the officer level (gazetted level) for projects and planning to be run under the Department of Roads, and Department of Rail under the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport.
