Pokhara is known as City of Seven Lakes in Nepal

Pokhara is a city on Phewa Lake, in central Nepal. It’s known as a gateway to the Annapurna Circuit, a popular trail in the Himalayas. Tal Barahi Temple, a 2-story pagoda, sits on an island in the lake. On the eastern shore, the Lakeside district has yoga centers and restaurants. In the city’s south, the International Mountain Museum has exhibits on the history of mountaineering and the people of the Himalayas.

Pokhara  is a metropolitan city in Nepal. It is the country’s second largest city in terms of population after the capital Kathmandu since Pokhara and Lekhnath were merged to create Pokhara Metropolitan City in May 2017. It is the provincial capital of Gandaki Pradesh and headquarters of Kaski District. Pokhara is located 200 kilometres (120 miles) west of the capital Kathmandu. The altitude varies from 827 metres (2,713 feet) in the southern part to 1,740 metres (5,710 feet) in the north. The Annapurna Range with three of the ten highest mountains in the world — DhaulagiriAnnapurna I and Manaslu — is within 15–35 mi (24–56 km) of the valley. Due to its proximity to the Annapurna mountain range, the city is a base for trekkers undertaking the Annapurna Circuit through the Annapurna Conservation Area region of the Annapurna ranges in the Himalayas.

Pokhara is home to many Gurkha soldiers. It is also considered as one of the tourism capital of Nepal.

The main attraction of this place is Phewa Lake which is located in the heart of the city. This place is famous for the temple which is located in the middle of the lake.

In the middle there is Tal Barahi Temple (located on the island in the middle of Phewa Lake)

There is one famous song also “Phewa taal ko aganma lai lai Machhapuchchhre Chaya”. People can do boating also. We can view sunset and sunrise from the top place of pokhara city named called Sarangkot. From here we can see the mountains and we can do paragliding. Tourist and Nepalese people also do paragliding from Sarangkot.

We can visit Mahendra gufa and Chamero gufa. Davis falls is another beautiful place to visit and take the pleasure of the water fall. There is Temple cave named Gupteswor Mahadev where we can go worship and take the blessings from the god. Another place is SETI George which is the longest George in Pokhara city. We can also visit the Museum   where we can see the traditional and old monuments. Pokhara is evergreen place to visit anytime any season as you like.

Pokhara is known to be a popular tourist destination from all over the world.Every year many people visit here in order to travel to annapurna range and famous religious place muktinath. The tourist district is along the north shore of the Phewa lake (Baidam, Lakeside and Damside). It is mainly made up of small shops, non-star tourist hotels, restaurants and bars. Most upscale and starred hotels are on the southern shore of the Phewa Lake and southeastern fringes of the city where there are more open lands and unhindered view of the surrounding mountains. Most of the tourists visiting Pokhara trek to the Annapurna Base Camp and Mustang. To the east of the Pokhara valley, in Lekhnath municipality, there are seven smaller lakes such as Begnas Lake, Rupa Lake, Khaste lake, Maidi lake, Neureni lake, Dipang lake. Begnas Lake is known for its fishery projects.
