SINDHULI, Nov 12: Members of National Youth Federation Nepal and All Nepal National Free Students’ Union (ANNFSU), Sindhuli Chapter burned an effigy of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba in a protest against rising prices of petroleum products.
The youths had set fire to the effigy at Shantinagar Chowk of Kamalamai Municipality-6 on the B.P Highway chanting slogans against the government in protest of the exorbitant price hike of petrol and LPG, which are used by people on a daily basis.
Dev Raj Waiba, a representative of the National Youth Federation said that instead of being involved to improve the living standards of people and work for the development of the country, the government is increasing the price of various goods which has tremendous effect on common people’s lives. “If the government does not withdraw the decision of increasing the price, we will stage protests,” he said, adding that the government should withdraw the price hike of consumer goods, including edible oil and petroleum products.
