NEPSE Index Declined In The Very First Transaction Day Of The Week

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index declined in the very first transaction day of the week on Sunday.

The NEPSE index slides by 4.45 points to 1,256.04 points today.

In today’s transaction, sub-indices of banking, trading, hydropower, others’, microfinance and life insurance group recorded declining trend while the sub-indices of hotel, development bank, finance, non-life insurance, manufacturing and mutual fund recorded a growth.

The sub-indices of life insurance group recorded highest decline of 50.24 points to close at 6,026.81 points followed by microfinance with 9.07 points to close at 1,433.18 points.

Likewise, the sub-indices of commercial bank declined by 6.7 points to 1,128.71 points, trading by 1.35 points to 259.84 points, hydropower by 3.16 points to 1,185.18 points and other group declined marginally by 0.46 points to 721.79 points.
However, sub-indices of non-life insurance group recorded highest growth of 38.32 points to close at 5,164.27 points followed by manufacturing group by 11.07 points to close at 2,686.82 points.

The sub-indices of hotels group rose by 6.84 points, development bank by 3.15 points and finance 2.69 points.

Today, the stock exchange traded 2,216,493 unit shares of 173 companies worth Rs. 540.59 million in 7,698 transactions.
Shareholders of Janautthan Samudayic Laghubitta Bikas Bank, Swarojar Laghu Bitta Bikas Bank, Mithila Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited, Khanikhola Hydropower and Nepal Agro Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited became top five losers on Sunday.

Similarly, shareholders of Swabhimaan Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited, Dibyashowri Hydropower, Rairang Hydropower Developer Company, Nepal Life Insurance Company ‘promoter’ and Best Finance Company became top gainers.
