Nepal’s premier folk-rock band, Nepathya, is all set to perform their debut concert in Phidim, Panchthar district headquarters, on Wednesday, the band said.
The band will captivate audiences with its trademark folk-rock music genre at the Phidim Higher Secondary School’s ground on January 16. The show will kick-off at sharp 6 pm.
With the inception of English new year, Nepathya decided to kick off its concert from Phidim despite having various invitations from other cities, the band shared.
After Dashain festival, Nepathya performed at the Sikkim Festival in the Sikkim State of India before travelling to four-city ‘Nepal Tour.’
“Nepathaya had wished to perform at a new city after the new year,” Lalit Krishna Shrestha, of Nepalaya which manages the band, said.
Amrit Gurung, the band lead singer and social activist, said, “I have not forgotten people’s love and affection when I had performed at Fikal of Illam a few years ago.”
“It gives me immense pleasure while performing at a small town,” Amrit Gurung shared.
As usual, Amrit is accompanied by Dhruba Lama on drums, Suraj Thapa on keyboards, Subin Shrestha on bass guitar, Niraj Gurung on guitar and Shanti Rayamaji on madals.
Meanwhile, the local organiser, Shree Sumalung Youth Club said, the concert was basically organised to promote Phidim, and a part of the profit will be donated to local charity.
