Nepal Army’s canyoning trainer dies falling off waterfall in Lamjung

A Nepal Army personnel died after falling off Gaikhure Jharana, a waterfall at Udipur in Lamjung district, today.

The deceased has been identified as Vijay Shrestha (31), Lance Corporal at Shreejung Battalion of Nepal Army.

Shrestha, a canyoning trainer fell off the waterfall and sustained critical injuries as he was drawing canyoning training and lesson plans for Rastra Sewak Dal students.

Immediately, he was rushed to Lamjung District Community Hospital in Besisahar, the district headquarters, for treatment. Doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival.

The battalion has scheduled a three-day canyoning training session for the students from August 31 to September 2.
