A total of 50 economically underprivileged women in Shuklaphanta Municipality from Kanchanpur district have been provided with financial assistance for goat rearing to empower them financially and help in the reduction of domestic violence.
The selected women from ward no. 2 and 12 of the municipality were given Rs 3,000 each for their skills and entrepreneurship development after a weeklong training.
According to chief of women section of municipility, Kamala joshi “Domestic violence will decrease if the women are economically resourceful. She added that we have given them the grant assistance amount along with the weeklong training to make them economically sound”.
She argued that this move will encourage women for savings, development skills, mobilize capital in productive sector and empower them socially and economically.
