Fed up with dust, locals shutdown Kalanki-Soltimode road section

Locals have shutdown Kalanki-Soltimode road section in the Capital protesting against the authorities’ apathy towards repairing the road section that has been spewing dust putting in risk the health of people living in the area.

Fed up with the working attitude of the government, the locals said that they are indefinitely closing down the road section as they have been facing the brunt of dust and smoke pollution for a long time now and the government seems to be indifferent regarding the health of the people.

The locals have demanded that the authorities immediately blacktop the road section.

The locals vented their ire over the lack of implementation of the agreement with the Kathmandu Metropolitan City to minimise the dust and smoke pollution in the area.

Earlier, the KMC had forged an agreement with the locals after which the latter had postponed their protest. However, the locals closed down the road section this morning since the agreement failed to materialise.
